STUDENTS´ PRESENTATIONS
Esta semana, los alumnos han preparado una presentación de todo lo aprendido hasta ahora sobre los países que les han sido asignados. Han hablado de política, economía, gobierno, relaciones con Naciones Unidas, conflictos internos e internacionales. Han tenido que resumir todo lo investigado en estas tres semanas en una presentación de Power Point y explicársela a sus compañeros de clase.

UN Day of the Girl
October 11th was the UN Day of the Girl Child. All over the world, women and girls participated in #GirlTakeover and stepped into jobs that are traditionally held by men. The theme of the #DayoftheGirl was With Her, A Skilled GirlForce, because globally girls face more adversities that prevent them from gaining education, skills, and meaningful employment.

RESEARCH
Los alumnos llevan dos semanas yendo al aula de tecnología una vez por semana para investigar y recopilar información de los países que les han sido asignados. Están aprendiendo a diferenciar entre fuentes fiables y no fiables, a seleccionar la información que necesitan y a parafrasear y resumir esa información para no cometer plagio.
Por último, traspasarán toda esa información a una presentación Power Point que presentarán en clase a todos sus compañeros.

At an event at UN headquarters in New York, co-organized with the Governments of Mexico and Lithuania, Ms. Santos Pais presented the key findings of the Secretary-General report and welcomed the ¨growing interest¨ from the world on this matter...

Despite such encouraging signs, the Special Representative identified several key areas where improvement was needed for Governments and institutions.
First, she emphasized the importance of early childhood prevention and noted that the ¨parent-child relationship is a critical factor in predicting the risk of bullying in adolescence.¨ According to the report, today, 176 million children under-five, witness domestic violence on a regular basis and children who bully others are twice as likely to have been exposed to domestic violence than other children...

GLOBAL CLASSROOMS: UNA EXPERIENCIA
El martes 26 de septiembre, los alumnos de 3ºE y 3ºF sección recibieron la visita de Lucía, ahora estudiante universitaria, y antigua participante del Programa Global Classrooms en el año 2012.
Lucía fue una de las alumnas que llegó a la fase final de la eliminatoria de Madrid. Habló a los alumnos de lo positivo de su experiencia, y también de lo negativo, el esfuerzo que harán será inmenso y tendrán que dar lo mejor de ellos.
Empezamos este nuevo proyecto con ilusión y estamos seguros de que la recompensa personal merecerá la pena.
